Honestly, I liked the series when I first read it (of course.... I was about fifteen at the time, so there ya go).  Now, I'd like to burn every copy of it.  The story line is unusual in some respects (sparkling vampires, anyone?), but other than that, it's just another teenage romance novel with a Mary Sue for an MC.

I was forced because my mom persuaded me with the HP 7 trailer.
I'm not seeing Breaking Dawn, though. My mom read the book, and told me about the ending and it was just... sick.

Personally, I think the first book is a little better because many characters are introduced and the description of Edward is not as much repeated as it is in the later books, but that's just my opinion. Besides, Bella almost died and she should have stayed dead.

The middle third of Breaking Dawn I kinda enjoyed, mainly because it's from Jacob's POV and I like his sense of humour. Except when it got to the section that... uh... will probably scare every girl ever off of having a baby. Ever.

Dunno.... though I think quality tends to decrease over the course of time.... so the books should be getting worse and worse

^ When I was reading Twilight on the plane to see my Grandparents and Aunt, I saw Twilight at the airport book store and decided to buy it.

7 hours later, I was on page 110 (I'm a fast reader) and it was a complete waste of money.

On first read, I sorta liked it, I thought "well, that's an interesting take on vampires, Bella's a bit annoying though..." when I reread it, since I reread everything, it fell into tiny pieces, not least because if you spend any length of time dwelling on Bella, then she's no longer a bit annyoing. She's someone you want to kill with a brick and dump in a Loch.

I liked the first book initially as well, then the series just got more and more ridiculous, resulting in Breaking Dawn being mostly crap. But, like mangaluva said, the part in Jacob's POV was the best. I knew you are my favourite fanfiction author for a reason!

Awww, shucks! 

But yeah, the Jacob POV section of Breaking Dawn is interesting. It's like she got a sense of humour out of nowhere. Or she stopped writing like a badficcer for a few days. It all falls apart when Bella becomes the ultimate Mary-Sue, of course.
