Hooo... the the armor at the second movie was new armor afterall. I though it was the one used in the first movie.
Kaito Lady wrote: 1st armor: he might have taken it after defeating that guy of the 1st movie
it is scattered and broken here and there. I guess tony remake it for decorative purpose
Kaito Lady wrote: 2nd armor: didnt the army give it back after the 2nd movie?
War machine is scheduled to show up at Iron Man 3, so I guess the army still have the modificated armor
mangaluva wrote: 2. The armour that became the War Machine basis. (Does that mean War Machine has the icing problem...?)
LOL Yeah, I guess War Machine still has teh icing problem, but fortunately Rhodes is not as crazy as Tony

Don Cheadle and Terrence Howard are both good Rhodeys, but I think Terrence Howard had to back out of shooting for Iron Man 2 because he was in court for assault charges.

Speaking of Iron Man, my reaction to finding out that Ben Kingsley is playing The Mandarin: "The bad guy is Ghandi?"

Pretty sure he was let go because he was making more than anyone else in the cast, including RDJ, and he refused to renegotiate.  So they told him to get lost.

Yesterday I was on a British Airways plane, and they have these little tv which tell you at what height you are, and how cold is it at this altitude, and how fast the plane is going, and then it struck me:
how did Tony Stark never thought about the icing problem he had in the first film, considering that at the cruise height (27000ft) the temperature was -35° C. I'm fairly sure Tony knows how to fly a plane, or at least his degree in engineering is kinda useful in these situations, I was wondering in this could be a mistake from his part, a plot mistake or just a plot device?

He was using an unfinished suit design, and also it seems like an entirely random whim on which he tried to fly to the moon. He probably just thought he'd go until something happened.  It was useful to the plot, in any case :x

Oh, did you hear about Sony abruptly announcing their hopes to crossover their latest Spiderman reboots with the Avengers universe?

They want to have more money? I wonder how they're going to do that, they have 2 versions of NY!

I don't like this....I'm pretty sure it's just because the contract they have on Spider-man is almost up, so they're trying to make as much money as possible before Disney/Marvel Studios takes it back. Just my opinion though.

I did not, but you can damn well guarantee Marvel won't let it happen.  Not a chance in hell they'd split money with Sony, and that's all Sony wants.  Not when Sony refuses to let the rights go back to Marvel.

It's not even close to up.  In fact, the movie existing means the time before it expires got reset.  So there's another 5 years or so before Marvel has a chance of getting it back now.  And there's no escape clause left, because Marvel already tried to use the one that's in the contract, and all they did was force Sony to choose between the cartoon and the movie.  Sony, of course, cut the cartoon rights and kept the movie rights.

No deal has been struck yet, Avi Arad just keeps going on about how Sony hopes to strike a deal and what "an exciting opportunity" it would be for Sony and Marvel (read: for Sony.) They want to start by making a Venom movie set in the MCU and then bring Spidey in from there.

Personally, I'm looking forward to Sony's rights running out and Spidey being brought formally into the MCU. Spiderman is about the only superhero I vividly remember reading when I was a kid because I loved him. The last three movies have been somewhat disappointing. I'd love to see him get the same high quality of movie that Thor, Cap and Iron Man did.

They won't run out.  Not until Sony either goes bankrupt or a Spiderman movie turns a loss.  So yeah, not until Sony goes bankrupt.  Their rights renew every time they make a movie, even if it's just straight to DVD and full of no-name actors they picked up at Denny's.

The first wasn't bad, and the second was really good.  Third... probably soured your impression of the entire trilogy.  Besides, other than the glowing webshooters and random white shoe soles on his feet, it looks like this iteration is going to be good.  They actually got a former Spidey writer to write the script, after all.

The problem is, how are they going to do that? They're going to find another actor? 3 guys playing Spider-man in different movies universe (and I'm not talking about Hulk, because it was just one film at a time...) in about 15 years is a bit too much
