I spent the entire episode squeeing over Stormageddon Alfie and laughing my ass off at that woman's complete misunderstanding of the relationship between Craig and The Doctor XDXDXDXDXD

Which series are you watching? I'm not a classic Who fan personally, but the Eccleston episodes aren't bad and from the moment David Tennant appears it just keeps getting better.

I've heard that most old Dr Who fans think that it had got worse since Matt Smith started and the plot has become a little complex for younger audience members. Apparently the first rebooted series with Christopher Eccleston was the best.

The series with Donna Noble was, IMO, one of the finest; I utterly adore Karen Gillian and Arthur Davrill, and I've even warmed to Matt Smith, not to mention River Song being a fun character, but... they're trying to do too much with the plot. Doctor Who wasn't a show originally set up for long, complex plots, it was designed to last an endless number of episode-length romps of fun ;D

I could care less it has its comedic fun on the line. Especially with this episode with Craig and the Doctor.

I know, that was brilliant fun XD What mainly makes me love Doctor Who is the scriptwriting. I love the sheer number of quotable lines and clever moments XD

So, who's seen The Wedding of River Song?
Spoiler:
The scenes with time happening all at once were just fun :D Winston Churchill is Ceasar, Pterodactyls as seagulls (BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA) and hot-air-cars... and "Captain Williams". "He's the best, couldn't live without him..." no you can't. I utterly adore the scene where the Silence are killing Rory, telling him how she won't come back for him, and she does, with a machine gun XDXDXD Also quite liked what she did to Madame Korkavian. "She didn't get it all from you." :D

When the Tesselecta turned up earlier in the episode, I wondered briefly if that was how the Doctor got out of it... but he was so serious by the lake later, I thought "naaaaaaaaaaaaahh..." trust River to break all of time and space. I liked the wedding ritual. Very simple, just the bare bones. But does it count since they got married in a reality that never existed? Maybe they'll have a proper ceremony later ;D

I saw it and watched Merlin straight afterwards.
Spoiler:
I loved the Amy and Captain Williams part. Unfortunately my Dad who was watching it with me kept complaining on how much it had changed from the Doctor Who that he watched when he was younger. Apparently not many aliens cared about the Doctor he wasn't that important. (I think he only said that because he prefers Merlin over Doctor Who.

Spoiler:
It was mentioned at the end of the episode that the Doctor himself felt that he was getting too big and too noticed, to the point of being the focus of a few End of the Universes. That's why he wanted to let the Universe think that he died at Lake Silencio.

I'm really very, very curious as to what his name is now. He must tell River at SOME point, because she said it just before she died in the Library. So when will he tell her... and will he tell us...?

Spoiler:
I think that it is possible that they will never tell us. After all the show is called Doctor Who and one of the things that you always wonder is about what the Doctor is really called so I don't think it will ever be revealed. If they revealed that then the biggest mystery would be solved.

Spoiler:
It might be something that they do if they ever decide that the show just needs to end. It would be a great way of going "this is the FINAL episode. This show had reached its end. Let's all go make Torchwood!" XDXDXDXDXD

been a few days, so to hell with spoiler boxes :P

anyway, I'm guessing the Silence aren't over with, considering they were only dealt with in a reality that never happened (ps: I can't believe I didn't notice it the first time around because the Silence weren't mentioned yet, but the name "Lake Silencio" is pretty cheesy :V), and that his whole name thing will be part of the next plot, and who knows, maybe River will learn his name when he goes to that place that forces you to tell the truth or whatever.

Possibly he'll say his name, but a ton of Silence will be hanging around, so the only one to remember it is the only person not actively looking at any Silence at the time? That would be a great way to tell River it without ever telling the audience, since what happens when people are looking at the Silence is very rarely shown onscreen.
