Wow, this could be a long list. Um. I'm a sucker for anything Daniel Handler/Lemony Snicket. And Conan Doyle, of course... Neil Gaiman, Ellery Queen, Kate Atkinson, George R.R. Martin, Agatha Christie, Madeleine L'engle, Edgar Allan Poe... I can go on. :x

Re: Who is your Fav author?
This topic has reminded me that I still need a copy of Notes for Dracula, which is unfortunately a specialty print and incredibly expensive for a facsimile. $60 seems to be the cheapest for a new copy anywhere, including eBay.
On the note of specialty books, I think this is a good arena to recommend Danish artist Nis Jessen's illustrated version of A Study in Scarlet. This isn't your typical illustrated work--it's not a comic book or anything like that. All of the text of the original story, from the 1887 Beeton's Christmas Annual (!), is included, but with absolutely beautiful and stunning illustrations throughout. The project took Jessen SEVENTEEN YEARS to complete. He meticulously researched the Victorian period, from buildings to costumes to home decor, and produced what is no doubt the definitive illustrated work for Holmes enthusiasts. Whether you intend to purchase or not, I highly, highly recommend just taking a preview tour here and looking at the sheer quality of what Jessen has done here. The book contains over 600 fully detailed and lovely illustrations that really deserve as wide an audience as possible.
I'm unsure if they are still taking orders as I bought my copy some years ago and did so from a secondhand source that was offering the only copy being sold in the United States at the time, and it's also autographed. Assuming they are still shipping copies, you can order either the standard edition or the special deluxe edition which comes with a bonus slipcase to house the book itself in. I took a quick look around for copies on eBay and Amazon just then and was unable to locate one being sold by anyone (understandably so, I wouldn't part with mine for even five times what I paid for it, which would be... a substantial amount of money).
Of course, I would be more than glad to share pictures of any requested scenes or portions of the book you may be curious in. It's a really wonderful work and if you can possibly get a copy (it should be much easier to get one if you're located in Europe) while it is still available, I can't recommend it highly enough. No Holmes collection is complete without it!
