Considering Twilight should be in the bottom of every lit. pieces list, nothing can be worse than Twilight

Yeah, but I always assumed when compared, most people will choose Harry Potter over Twilight.

Okay, I can break this down!

1) Rowling can write well and tell a story... Meyers writes like an advanced 5 year old

2) Rowling created a story whose intent was to inspire people to believe that even the impossible is possible and to believe in magic. Meyers set woman's rights back 20 years, as well as her stories were basically saying "SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE WILL KILL YOU" (more or less)

3) Rowling makes sense.... Meyers... I think she was high and tripping at the same time... Vampires that sparkle in the sun? A vampire that goes to high school? (BTW I know there was a reason for this, but a reviewer I enjoy brought up a good point while riffing it... IF their intent is to stay anonymous, why leave the house? they don't associate with anyone anyway, and by showing your face every day to the same people, someone is bound to notice that they are not aging) A vampire that goes to high school that DOESN'T have a picnic with the students as the main course? A girl who goes to a new school and is INSTANTLY accepted (And I mean completely... every guy wants her, and every girl wants to be her friend, and is the newspaper's top story... Real life: Every guy wants the girl, every girl wants to kill the new girl who is getting the attention of the guys, and the newspaper would report on a murder). And a girl who likes a guy who is a complete jerk/creep???? I mean... he treats her like shit! And on top of that watches her while she is sleeping EVERY NIGHT?! WHO FINDS THAT ANYTHING OTHER THAN REALLY CREEPY??? I think girls who like this tripe needs to get their head examined thoroughly...

4) I can't think of anything else, but sufficed to say Rowling is worthy of her popularity and money (though I think separating book 7 into 2 movies was a bit much) And Meyers need to be shot for crimes against humanity (and woman's rights).

I agree with Kyuu on every point but one:  splitting Deathly Hallows was probably a great idea, apart from the obvious financial benefits to the creator/cast/crew/etc., as it allows for some actual character development.

Harry Potter of course.  The stories are very well written.  Movies are alright, but I definitely prefer the books.

To be fair I have not read Meyer's stuff, but I have no interest in the series based on what others have told me.  And although I shouldn't judge a book by its movie, I saw the first Twilight movie with my friend who loved it and I could not get into the story whatsoever.  If the movie is any indication, Twilight is nothing more than poorly written "romance" (although Edward's actions seemed more stalker-ish to me...that and the main character's actors constantly look high. O_o;; ).

HP just has more depth to it and expands the reader's imagination.  The Twilight series is just your average romance paperback meant to be read once and then donated that just happened to become popular with a tween and teen audience because of the fact it's supernatural. *shrug*

Well... truth be told... that is a personal gripe because they didn't split any of the LotR movies.... and at least RotK needed it desperately... they cut SO much out. And now they are splitting the Hobbit (granted I see how/why) but I don't think the Hobbit necessarily needs it, whereas LotR could have used it....

The Hobbit is getting split?  That seems really strange to me.

Yup, it is. Given there are two stories in the Hobbit, but still... I don't think it is necessary. LotR it was, and it didn't happen... I WANTED TO SEE SARUMAN GET HIS ASS KICKED BY HOBBITS DAMN IT!
