Spoiler:
As usual, terrific episode. Loved the Whedon-esque and more importantly, surprising, destruction of Garret... That was AWESOME!!! Fitz probably having having brain damage is sad..... but it really is more realistic to see that some damage came to the team in their war against Cybertek. I mean, all the good guys couldn't possibly come out unscathed. Deathlok goes alone, in the end. That much was expected, at least. Mike has to do the "redemption" thing. Standard trope. Also, Skye's parents being Jotun's seems unlikely. I think they will be Kree/Inhuman as we seem to be moving in that direction in general. Also, explains the monster things. But it is as unlikely as the next theory. :P
Fury's appearance was BADASS!!!!

Spoiler:
Apparently, the things that Garrett and Coulson were etching were Skrull characters, which seems to answer the question of the species of the alien that the formula came from, and presumably the species that Skye is, since using the medicine on her had no ill-effects.

Unlikely. I dont know if the characters are Skrull. Here is the alphabet. They seemed more like Star maps to me.

Also, the alien was blue and the Skrulls revert to their Green state when dead. On a side note, anyone who consumes anything out of a Skrull gets shape changing abilities.

I still now officially love this show, but I am really worried about the number of people in the fandom that are passionately defending
Spoiler:
Ward.
Especially the people arguing "well if Black Widow gets to be redeemed for all of her terrible crimes, why doesn't ((spoiler))?"

A) DO NOT COMPARE THAT NAZI SON OF A BITCH TO THE WONDER AND THE GLORY THAT IS NATASHA ROMANOV

B) Natasha WANTS to be redeemed. She is actively working towards redemption. And part of that is that she genuinely feels crushing guilt for her past crimes. She isn't ever, ever, EVER saying "I was only following orders" or "it was for the greater good". Even if, as is heavily implied, she was specifically raised and programmed as an assassin and could reasonably argue to not have full accountability for her actions (similar to Bucky, who I also hope to see going on a redemptive arc of seeking ways to atone for his crimes), she still owns what she did and takes responsibility for it instead of trying to hide it or explain it away.

((spoiler)) does not. They turned down every chance they were given, every olive branch that they were offered, all while refusing to accept responsibility for their own mistake. Also, they knowingly joined a Nazi organization. Even if they hadn't heard of Hydra when they joined, they should have learned about Hydra within like a week of joining SHIELD and immediately, still being a fully autonomous adult with a sense of self and the capacity to make choices, should have NOPED right out of that whole situation.

But they didn't. They are a sociopath. Why are people defending this person?!

I think it is Kree. But it could be anything. Marvel has many blue aliens (12 species i can count off my head). Also, the alien could be blue due to the liquid. Other major options would be Saakran, Zaotan, Mercurio (as all 3 appear or have cameos in GOTG) or Interdites (as that race would explain the dreams and the psionic images).

I agree with you, that situation makes me deeply uneasy!
Spoiler:
Brett Dalton is a really cool guy, he makes awesome puns and such, but he shouldn't encourage SkyeWard, it's completely fudged up!

Ward could also have turned his back on HYDRA when they made their big reveal, he could have told Coulson, by that time, he would have noticed that these people weren't hurting him, and cared about him. I remember Rumlow from Cap 2 and his pain thing about HYDRA, Ward is about as deranged as he is!!

He could have denied his ties to HYDRA, that would have been acceptable for his redemption, but he's been irredeemable since he killed Victoria Hand!
In other news: #NailHydra ;D

Hmmm, that's a lot of aliens...

Well, ((Spoiler)) is confirmed as a regular for season 2 by the showrunners and a redemption arc is already hinted at. Also, i handpicked only the major possibilities. A search on the wiki will give you 113 entries. Also, the symbol on the creature's chest is a Kree symbol. So, he is probably Kree. Like 98%.

NO

NO

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Spoiler:
Seriously, I was SO glad that they literally shot in the face any possibility of Garett being a recurring villain. I think we're all 2000% done looking at his slimy face. Ward too. All I want for Ward is for him to spend the rest of his life in a small room with regular intervals of May-based pain (I just imagine Natasha walking into the room one day and going "solitary confinement, huh? That can be pretty boring. Heard you could do with some eye candy..." and Ward is allowed a minute to acknowledge how well and truly screwed he is before more pain happens). Ward does not want redemption and has shot down every chance for it. He didn't even have a graceful, painful fall like Loki (who I also think is irredeemable at this point, but I think is also somewhat more tragic and frankly has a lot more markers of a suppressed desire for redemption).

I care about Mike. I want to see how Mike's atonement arc goes. I want to see him reunited with Ace. I want him to hang out with Bucky and for the two of them to compare cyborg parts and brood over the terrible things they've done and blow up Hydra bases together. I want MIKE to feel redeemed.

And I want Trip to be around forever with all of his cute vintage SHIELD gear. Trip is awesome.

AND I WANT FITZ TO BE OKAY FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITZ T_T I want to see Simmons taking care of him through his recovery with infinite levels of FitzSimmons cuteness.

I want to know who May was married to and I want to see her kick endless amounts of ass and continue to have a wonderful bromance with Director Coulson and for her to start to recover from some of her issues and be happier again.

I REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS THE DEAL WITH SKYE

Also, I could not actually be more excited for Agent Carter. I think Hayley Atwell said there were going to be eight episodes, all sort of revolving around different aspects of who Peggy is, which sounds cool although I'm sad there are't more. I LOVE PEGGY SO MUCH I CAN'T WAIT :DDDDDDDDDDDDD

I just realized that of two of the topics I made partially for the sake of the community, one of them I've had nothing to add to for months and the other is a show I haven't watched in close to 2 months. Oops. :p

To be fair, the gap between episodes hurt this series a bit for me, so I'll just watch the rest of it after Captain America 2 ends up on DVD.

I just finally caught up on Season 1 of this show...

I loved Ward at the beginning, but man he turned into a real jerk. Even though I knew it was coming, I was still pretty sad about it. I don't know if he can be redeemed, but I will love seeing whatever May decides to do to him. Skye too, for that matter.

I also loved Coulson using that particle blaster to take out Garrett. That was possibly the best moment of the episode, other than May's fight with Ward and the subsequent conversation with Coulson. "I think I broke his trachea."

I want Fitz to be okay and he's half the reason I want Ward to be redeemable. Fitz was so sad when Ward tossed him and Simmons out of the bus, like his whole world just broke.

I loved all of the bad SHIELD puns, too. Garrett and Ward going to raid the Fridge. I was waiting for like three episodes for someone to make that joke and finally Coulson did.

Does anyone else feel like Eric and Billy are actually clones? Some sort of weird pre-programmed droids complements of Fury?

Tomorrow I'll catch up on Season 2.

I am so emotionnally compromised after the third episode.
Fitz, poor thing! I just...
Spoiler for episode 3
Spoiler:
WARD YOU BUTTHOLE! I HATE YOU!
Trying to manipulate Fitz "oh, I mean, I could have shot you, it would have been worse than brain damage, amirite?"
I was so hyped when he started removing the oxygen from Ward's cell!
I am glad that he has Mack as a friend, Mack didn't know him from before, so he has no "expectations" from Fitz. They all need therapy, though!
And Simmons undercover for HYDRA, she's so going to get in trouble, but she's been good for now, lying convincingly, taking advice from papa Coulson who cooks her dinner.
Skye is turning into a mini-May, I don't think it's a good idea, even if I like the idea of them bonding!
Next week's episode is going to be a blast, maybe literally!

I agree with all of the above, except...
Spoiler:
I still really want Ward to be redeemable. I don't want it to be easy or quick, but I'd like to see it happen. I think he really does care for the team, whether he'd like to admit it or not. I did appreciate Fitz taking away his oxygen, though. Let him see what he did to Fitz, even if it was to save him as he claims.

I loved this week's episode! It was really well done, they should do more of these!
Spoiler:
I like how Fitz is gradually seeing the Simmons in his head less, he's starting to make new friends, and grow as a person, it's beautiful!
May and Coulson undercover was the best thing from the episode, especially May's hysterical laughter!!
Anyone increasingly worried that Simmons will be brainwashed? About to be brainwashed?
I am really hyped for this season, I was happy with last season, but not as much! Everything is working so well now!

It's funny to me that I've seen both ends of the spectrum of whether someone liked or hated this episode.
Spoiler:
I liked May's hysterical laughter, too. And everyone's reactions to it. XD
And the last scene with Fitz and Lance and Mack.
I'm worried about Simmons getting brainwashed, too. Hopefully they'll get her out before that happens. We don't need another traitor, even if it isn't her choice, on the team.
Next week: Skye's father? That should be interesting, though I will be disappointed if Ward doesn't get out to take her there. Since that's basically his only purpose left in life...
