and i really don't think that it'll end soon. i've read an article that DC will be doing a tv-special with death note. (not sure if that was true.) look, why is there a news saying that DC will have a DN special if the first one will be ending soon? hmm.
this is funny but I refuse to explain why

The guy who answered was Akai, and it was at the end of the show, so it should be considered as a joke, just like all the other dialogue near the end of an episode...

ex:

"Hey haibara who was your first love?"
"Hakase."
"eh?!"

The only members of Black Organization to find out so far have either had reasons of their own for not spilling Conan's identity (Vermouth, Kir) or got killed before they could (Pisco).

Ironically, the member most likely to figure it out, Gin, is handicapped by the fact that he doesn't remember people he's killed. He's probably forgotten about Kudo Shinichi altogether.

I don't think Gin will ever forget Shinichi. It's a flaw in the movie that Gin didn't remember Shinichi. haha! actually, in episodes, Gin is very much obsessed in capturing kudo as well as ai. that's what i though :D

I think you are mixing up some stuff. Pisco didn't know Conan's identity and Kir doesn't know too (at least there is no reason to think that she does).

I agree with Kor. The only BO members that have known Conan's identity would be Belmont (Vermouth, whatever way you say it) and Irish.

Gin doesn't ever know about Shinichi in the anime, apart from as a nosy kid they encounter on the roller coaster ride, then behind the park afterward. He knows later on that someone is investigating the Syndicate, but never knows who and there is no sign he even suspects it might be the nosy kid he poisoned. Furthermore, he states several times in various episodes (such as when Vodka asks him about the name of the CIA agent that Kir killed) that he doesn't bother remembering the names of dead people, or people he has personally killed. To him, Shinichi Kudo is dead (thanks to the apotoxin) and, hence, not worth remembering. (Even in the episode where Heiji plays Kudo on the pirate ship, Vodka asks Gin directly about Kudo and Gin is like, "who's that?")

And the only time he's ever seen Conan directly, as far as I know, was when he kicked a soccer ball into the window when Chianti was about to shoot Kogoro.

I'm going to try and be nice....

1) Gosho has little if anything to do with the anime, and especially the movies. In Japan, animation companies get the rights to animate manga, usually without the involvement of the original creators. [Ever notice how Gosho's name never comes up in the credits other than "Original concept and characters?" It's much like in America when movies are made of books.... Rarely are the original novelists invited to partake in the creation of the screenplay. They are usually just credited with the idea.

2) The movies have nothing to do with the story at all, occasionally they'll introduce a character that is later used. IIRC Shitatori was introduced in a movie, and he was later included in the manga. But other than small things like that... there is no correlation. If there was then Kid would know who Conan is, and in the manga, there is no indication of that.

3) Yes... there are animes that end with a movie, but that doesn't mean the manga ends. A great, and widely known example is Full Metal Alchemist. The anime ended, they completed with a movie, and the MANGA KEPT GOING. Not only that... but now they are redoing the anime completely as FMA: Brotherhood to make it with the manga story line [which is far superior].

In short, series don't end until the mangaka says its done, the mangaka dies, or loses his position in the magazine. None of which will happen to Gosho anytime soon [or at least we hope he won't die at least]. In terms of the other two... Why would Gosho stop when he is making a ton of money from this. He is currently the highest paid mangaka in Japan. And I don't think he'd ever EVER agree to allow his series to be finished in animated form before the manga was finished, and have that be the definitive ending. If they stop the movies, they are losing money, if they stop the series they are losing money. So Conan is going no where until Gosho says so. But I hope its soon.... 5 more years it will be 20 years....

The movie thing is yearly, for Golden Week. It'll continue until DC ends, which I don't really see happening anytime soon. It may even continue afterwards if the marketers can exert enough pressure.
