. and yes, Kamen Rider series are really popular in Japan. While a friend of mine went to Japan for vacation (he`s toku fans, like me), he was surprised that the Kamen Riders... you could see them everywhere. many poster about them even in the hotel (Just like the recently celebrating of 200 miliion copy of One Piece. You can see it everywhere)
FYI, Kamen Rider is now entering its 27th Installment, with new and fresh concept, story, characters, and casts in each installments. the 1st (that Kyuu mention here) until the 12th run continously every years. Kamen Rider went on hiatus after that for about 10 years with 13th to 15th released in the movie during that period (movie only). the 16th started at 2000, and the series run regularly with the new concept every years.

American should familiar with Kamen Rider if they watched Masked Rider (which is adaptation from the 12th - Kamen Rider Black RX) and some years ago Kamen Rider Dragon Knight (which is adaptation from 18th - Kamen Rider Ryuki). While I hate Masked Rider (the story is suck), I love Dragon Knight, more than the original version
