For all you good movie lovers out there... the moviepocalyps

Post by WBoon »

Do you feel like movie quality is dropping by the week? Are movies getting s***tier and s***tier?

You're not alone. It is happening! It's a sign of THE MOVIEPOCALYPSE! - the end of good movies!

There's still time to prevent it, IF we band together and take a stand!

Join the fight!

WBoon searches for the MOVIE TRUTH with no bulls***, humor-filled, in-depth reviews of the movie previews, preparing the audience ahead of time to make well informed choices that protect their time, money and energy and helps ensure a promising movie future.

Together we can make a movie difference!

LONG LIVE GOOD MOVIES!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First moviepocalypse update of the day, Max Steel, the Mattel toy/cartoon show is now movie-ized.
Then, another adaptation... Hong Kong Phooey? Never watched it. Is it good/bad?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hong_Kong_Phooey
However, there's still Movie Hope - The Hangover has made over $222 million. Good to see a 'not-designed-to-be-a-blockbuster' doing well because of the movie actually being good.
Then, our biggest moviepocalypse fight, ever: Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. It has beaten the $700 million worldwide total of the first movie... after only 3 weeks... Ugh.
~~
Do you feel like movies are getting s***tier each week?
Does the news of remakes, reboots and rip-offs leave you feeling like a red-headed stepchild?
Are the TV shows, cartoons, comics and original movies that made your childhood feel like a magical adventure calling you in the middle of the night from a street corner pay phone asking for rescue from the H-wood pimp that's who*ing them out to make quick, easy, brainless, creative-free profit?
If these questions have put into words the puke-alarm feeling that’s been slowly building in your gut over the last four cinematic years, then smile, you’re not crazy or pregnant, though you still might have the herp... You’ve just been sensing the MOVIEPOCALYPSE!
It’s the end of GOOD MOVIES and of movies made with a fresh creative spirit.
To help prevent this cinematic catastrophe , I’ll be blogging regularly here to keep us all up to date on the day to day battles and hopefully, help make a movie difference!
Long Live Good Movies!
The image below has not been altered in any way. It’s a real ad that’s been popping up on major internet web sites. I haven’t seen many movies that can truthfully claim they’re the number one grossing movie in the world. The end MUST be near, cause it’s one of the WORST movies ever... aside from the CGI action and special effects.
Voice your desire to have movies with STORIES and CHARACTERS along with great effects. Box Office is your voting booth. The more money a movie makes, the more H-wood thinks that we want what it offers. If it’s s***ty everything except CGI then that’s what we get. We’ve got two years till Transformers 3, so let the battle for good movies continue!
yeah, that's nice, tell me when they ruin the GOOD Transformers series (Beast Wars). *yawns*
Hell, you're on a Conan forum, at least complain about how no one knows this awesome detective series exists instead of complaining about the same old sh*t that everyone does (for example: 4KIDS RUIN ONE PIECE AND LOT OF ANIME I'VE NEVER SEEN, THEY EVIL!111!" . =(
I really should see the Hangover...
Movie Hope - Non-adaptation/remake/reboot idea! Avon Man with Hugh Jackman. Might be a timely recession comedy or just a big 90 min Avon ad.
True, but not everybody is doing something about it.
More updates, this time, including some short reviews:
Halloween (Rob Zombie remake) - Michael Meyers gets a Rob "White Trash Horror" Zombie makeover. More blood and backstory, less tension and fear. See it at MATINEE price.
The Apartment - AMC's Mad Men owes a lot to this Billy Wilder masterwork. Captures 1960s big business/male/female zietgiest. MIDNIGHT SHOW
Movie Hope - Even though it's inspired by 1988's Alien Nation, it's still refreshing.
Moviepocalypse - A lame remake of the decent 1987 horror movie.
I had actually watched that 1987 horror movie. I think Kevin Spacey starred in that one? Eh, he's still alive; maybe they could star him again.
